Description:

Habitat: From north-eastern Europe to eastern Siberia and northern China. Also found in Canada and the northern United States.

It is distinguished from other crossbills by the white tips of its tertial feathers, greater coverts and primary feathers. It migrates to France in some winters.

In captivity, its behaviour is that of a Crossbill.

Recommendations: One pair per aviary (2m x 2m x 1m). Ensure a supply of pine cones is available for rearing the young.
