The Cape Sparrow is a magnificent sparrow that has been imported over the last few years.
As its name suggests, it is found in the Cape, in South Africa. It inhabits grasslands and savannahs, parks and gardens, and acacia woodlands.
The male has a black head, except for the eyebrows and a white ring around the cheeks.
Its nape is dark grey. Its back is brown. Its throat is black and its breast is grey.
The female has a grey head, and the white found on the male is replaced by a cream colour.
